A "Listeners Planning Committee" is to be created by the PBS in order to enlist the help of the listening public in improving the scope and quality of broadcasts, the Hon. Edwin Samuel, Director of Broadcasting announced at a press conference in Jerusalem yesterday.

The new PBS policy of "listening as well as talking" was outlined by Mr. Samuel. Listeners to the Hebrew programmes are to be invited to volunteer for service on the 300-man committee, which will be invited to send comments on current programmes.

Similar committees are to be founded for the English and Arabic Sections next year.

Beginning next month, a progranmme of "Critics on the Air" is to be broadcast by journalists every month.

Of the 78,000 wireless sets in Palestine at the end of September, over 60,000 belonged to Jews, who formed about 80 per cent of the radio audiences. Hebrew programs are being broadcast for five and a half hours daily.
